Long lasting lipsticks are always evolving. From liquids that dry on your lips to traditional cream tubes, there are many different types to suit your budget and needs. It all depends on what you're willing to
sacrifice. Do you want something smooth, that won't cake on your lips? Then a cream lipstick is your bet best, but be prepared to reapply after 6 hours. Do you want a full day of no-fail coverage? Liquid formulas that dry on your lips will stay on the longest, but often need a topcoat of gloss or balm to keep them from looking (and feeling) sticky and dry. Here are reviews of five truly great long lasting lipsticks and links to buy them.
Endless by L'Oreal: This is a traditional cream lipstick tube with moisturizing emollient. It won't dry on your lips, but the pigment is boasted as anti-fade and will last up to 8 hours. Endless comes in a variety of shades to suit any skin tone.
Smashbox Limitless Long Wear Lip Gloss: I love the idea of long wearing lip gloss, and all the shades contain a bit of shimmer that is very pretty and flattering on any lip. The color lasts up to 6 hours and also protects your lip with an SPF of 15. The formula feels a bit sticky and thick on the lips, though. If you don't care for sticky, go with MAC Creemesheen Glass, which is a bit cheaper but rather hard to find and tends to all be on the bubblegum pink side, whereas Smashbox delivers a more varied palette.
Revlon ColorStay Soft & Smooth: This is a creamy lipstick that moisturizes as well as stays on with SoftFlex™ formula lip color. The feel of this lipstick is just a bit powdery, but not noticeable enough to be a negative. Still, you may want to consider a little gloss on top if you're not fond of dry feeling lipstick.
L'Oreal Infallible Never Fail Lipcolor: Get out the big guns! This has a mirrored case for easier application and a topcoat to seal in color. Infallible is truly a great long wearing lip stick - affordable and effective.
