The Tennessee Vols will play the Virginia Tech Hokies in the 2009 Chick-fil-A bowl on December 31st in Atlanta at the Georgia Dome. That's according to GoVolsXtra.com this evening. There were varying reports on the internet that the Chick-fil-A representatives were in attendance when Tennessee downed Kentucky in overtime in Lexington, Kentucky this past weekend.
Virginia Tech also looked to have locked up their bid as well to the 2009 Chick-fil-A Bowl with a 9-3 overall mark and 6-2 in the ACC. The Tennessee Vols would enter the 2009 Chick-Fil-A Bowl at 7-5 overall and just 4-4 in the SEC. There have been no official releases from the 2009 Chick-Fil-A Bowl as of yet confirming the matchup between the Tennessee Vols and the Virginia Tech Hokies.
